| Description: | Okinawa City Marathon is located on the beautiful Island of Okinawa. The course has it's fair share of hills and is conducted during the month of Feb. The great thing about the run is first the participation of the local people who come out and support the runners. The entire course has supporters along the route. The supporters have everything from sports drink to Okinawan candy (a great energy boost). You get to enjoy the beautiful ocean as you run the marathon. It's a great place and you really enjoy it. If you ever have the opportunity to run over in Japan do. I have several routes I like to run in Japan from Okinawa, Nagano (Shimosuwa shi), Yokohama, Yokosuka, and Sasebo. Also, I've ran in Australia, Hong Kong, Valdivostka, Qingdao, Saipain, Fiji, New Caledonia, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and several other countries that I enjoy running but Japan has been the best. |
