This paved trail runs for 3.5 miles between Copley Hospital and McCoy St. in Aurora with markers every half mile. It follows alongside Waubonsee Creek and is a popular place for runners, bikers and walkers. Trail passes behind Waubonsee Valley High School and by the Eola Community Center. Trail crosses Eola Rd on a bridge. Additional trails (not mile marked) create a loop around Waubonsee Lake and the section of creek near the Oakhurst pool. Trail connections from both Waterford St. and Kautz St. lead to Oakhurst Forest Preserve and miles more of trails. Additional connections can be made off of McCoy to trails around Spring Lakes and along the ComEd Right of Way (dirt access road). Water and bathrooms are available at two locations. |
