Flat and fast but be aware of the off roads
PR'd here and had a fun time. Agree with others that the course is 60% paved and 40% non paved roads. Most of the non paved was hard packed dirt and perfectly runnable but there were about 2 miles of each loop that was rutted, softer dirt that, while runnable, was challenging and definitely slowed my pace for those miles. Felt it in my hips later in the race but since I PR'd, clearly it didn't hold me back too much.
That said, I would definitely recommend this marathon. The race organization was top notch. They had coffee and cinnamon rolls (even GF and vegan options!) pre race and a catered lunch post race. Beautiful scenery and great volunteers.

Flat and fast
Course consists of two loops on the island. 60% paved road and 40% dirt road/other. It was cold and windy but that can change from day to day on Daufuskie. The dirt roads are rutty and my hips felt it through the second lap. Still a great race and a BQ with good weather.

Small race with so much class & character
Loved this race. It's a hidden gem. The course had breathtaking views. It's flat and fast with VIP treatments from start to the post race festivities. Great swag and medal.
