Successful inaugural Marathon ready for 2006
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The second annual Pensacola Marathon & Half Marathon is
set to begin at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, downtown Pensacola.
Event organizers were able to secure the same scenic USATF certified course
as the 2005 marathon. Race applications and online registration are
expected to be available by the middle of August.
Paul Epstein, the founder and organizer of the Pensacola event, said that
planning is already underway for next year’s race.
Additions that are already being considered are the pre-race pasta dinner
and race expo featuring speeches from nationally recognized athletes and
authors.
"All we can say at the moment, is stay tuned – we are working very hard to
add more excitement to the 2006 community event," Epstein said.
Paul Epstein of Running Wild, and fellow marathon organizers are dedicated
to the encouragement of physical well being through running, jogging,
racewalking, cross country, and track & field. It’s this dedication that
inspired their decision to continue a marathon in Pensacola.
