      PENSACOLA MARATHON GETS MUCH NEEDED SUPPORT FROM COMMUNITY


PENSACOLA, Fla. - Sponsorship support for the inaugural Pensacola Marathon 
and Half Marathon is growing and its creators appreciate the support.

Sponsorships have been secured from organizations such as SunTrust Bank, 
Coca-Cola, Running Wild, the U.S. Air Force, the City of Pensacola, Gu, 
Brooks, Pensacola Runners Association, Dasani and Gene Mitchell of Merrill 
Lynch. 

 "SunTrust Bank is pleased and proud to provide a meaningful sponsorship 
for the first annual Pensacola Marathon," said Hank Gonzales, City 
President of SunTrust Bank Pensacola. "This is an important event for our 
community and as a sanctioned qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, it 
brings runners from around the United States to our city."

The Marathon will begin at 6:30 a.m. in Downtown Pensacola. It will host 
both runners from around the world and runners from Pensacola as they 
compete along the scenic course, designed specifically to highlight the 
beauty of Pensacola. Athletes from Louisiana to Tennessee, and as far away 
as Canada will be present - making it all the more important Pensacola puts 
its' best foot forward.

Paul Epstein of Running Wild, and fellow marathon organizers are dedicated 
to the encouragement of physical well being through running, jogging, 
racewalking, cross country, and track & field. It's this dedication that 
inspired their decision to continue a marathon in Pensacola.
