                         INAUGURAL PENSACOLA MARATHON


PENSACOLA, Fla. - Ready-Set-Register! The deadline for early registration 
is fast approaching for the 2005 inaugural Pensacola Marathon!

The inaugural marathon scheduled for Feb. 20 has received wonderful 
coverage from both the local and national press, resulting in registrations 
from runners all over the country.

The overwhelming response has prompted marathon organizers to launch a new 
Web site devoted specifically to the Pensacola Marathon, 
www.pensacolamarathon.com. The site provides detailed information about the 
marathon, such as a detailed course map, registration information, start 
times, packet pickups, and up-to-the-minute marathon updates.

Race applications are now available and entry fees are as follows: $45 for 
the marathon and $35 for the half marathon. A $10 fee will be added for 
entries received after February 13. Registration is now available on-line 
at www.pensacolamarathon.com.  

The inaugural Pensacola Marathon & Half Marathon will begin at 6:30 a.m. on 
Sunday, Feb. 20, Downtown Pensacola. The route is scenic and covers a large 
portion of Pensacola, while some early hills will provide some challenge, 
later the course is primarily flat and downhill. Every finisher will 
receive a special inaugural medal.  

Paul Epstein at Running Wild, and fellow marathon organizers are dedicated 
to the encouragement of physical well being through running, jogging, 
racewalking, cross country, and track & field. It's this dedication that 
inspired their decision to continue a marathon in Pensacola.
