Press Release - Twin Cities Marathon - 12/15/20

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dean Orton Named New Twin Cities In Motion President

St. Paul, Minn. - December 15, 2020 - Twin Cities In Motion, the nonprofit
organizer of the region's premier running events, including the flagship
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, has hired Dean Orton as its new President.
Orton is tasked with leading the growth and evolution of the organization
and driving its business strategy.

Orton replaces Mike Logan who left Twin Cities In Motion in October after
five years leading the organization.

"We are so pleased that a person with Dean's breadth and depth of
non-profit experience will be joining us," TCM Board Executive Chair Deb
LaMere said. "Dean brings decades of leadership experience in which he has
demonstrated a record of success in broadening and deepening relationships
within the community, managing disruptive change, building on core
organizational strengths while advancing innovating new business models,
delivering consistent revenue growth, and supporting high performing
teams."

Orton joins Twin Cities In Motion after a career spent largely in public
radio and television. Orton served as Twin Cities Public Television's
Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer from 2016 to 2020. Prior to
that, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Connecticut's NPR & PBS
service.

"I'm excited to join the Twin Cities In Motion team as its president. I
have long respected the work of the organization and admire the important
role it plays in the community, including annually helping dozens of
nonprofits raise over a $1M per year through the very best in running
experiences," Orton said. "I'm approaching the position humbled by the
responsibility and exhilarated by the possibilities."

Orton joins the organization during a challenging time for the running
event industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Uncertainty surrounds the
industry's near future, but the organization is optimistic about a gradual
return to larger in-person events in 2021.

"TCM has been hard at work building products to serve the running community
in a socially distanced environment, and I'm eager to lend my energy to
that effort," Orton said. "I'm also excited to position TCM in a way that
will see the organization emerge from the pandemic in a strong position
that serves runners, our partners and the community long into the future."

In 2019, more than 45,000 runners participated in Twin Cities In Motion
events, including more than 28,000 during Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon
Weekend. For nearly four decades, TCM has been the region's premier running
event organizer. Registration for an in-person 2021 Medtronic Twin Cities
Weekend is expected to open in the spring of 2021, pending the status of
the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Twin Cities In Motion (TCM) is the region's premier running event company.
Its mission is simple - ignite everyone's inner athlete. TCM is a 501 (c) 3
nonprofit that organizes dozens of events throughout the year, including
the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, a Top 10 U.S. marathon, to provide
opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, and experiences to live an
active, healthy lifestyle. Collectively, TCM and its charity partners that
fundraise at TCM events regularly give back more than $1 million annually
to a variety of causes. For more information, visit us at tcmevents.org, or
