Waukesha, WI, November 24, 2008: The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation
and Forestry Department is proud to announce the 17th Annual Trailbreaker
Marathon will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2009. This is outstanding
news for the running community and the Parks Department are pleased to
re-activate this popular event.

The Trailbreaker Marathon consists of a full marathon, half marathon and a
5K Run/Walk. All events begin at the Schuetze Recreation Center in Downtown
Waukesha, running along the Fox River in Frame Park. The full marathon
continues on the Glacial Drumlin Trail to the top of the Lapham Peak Tower
and returns.

The Trailbreaker was created by Don Ayer, Bill Hotz, and Dick Pas in 1992.
It has attracted over 10,000 runners from all over the US and beyond, and
has generated over $75,000 in charitable contributions for the local
community.

Marathon and Beyond magazine has ranked the Trailbreaker Marathon as one of
the 25 toughest marathons in North America. The marathon attracts
nationally ranked runners and the half-marathon is among the fastest in the
Midwest. In fact, it is the first major running event of the year in the
mid-West.

The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department is pleased to help continue
this quality event. For more information regarding the Trailbreaker
