GO! St. Louis® President Nancy Lieberman Receives National Running Award
Trailblazer Award Presented by Women's Running Magazine
Recognizes Career Commitment to the Sport
ST. LOUIS (MO) – February 18, 2009 – GO! St. Louis, a 501c3 not-for-profit
organization that specializes in presenting fitness events and programs for
the region on a year-round basis, announced today that GO! St. Louis'
president and founder, Nancy Lieberman was recently awarded the Trailblazer
Award, presented by Women's Running Magazine. Lieberman received the
national award at the annual 2009 Running USA conference in La Jolla, CA.
The Trailblazer Award is presented to the woman, who has been a leader and
pioneer in the sport and has served the sport with distinction. After
spending 20 years working in healthcare, Nancy established GO! St. Louis is
1999 to provide fitness events and programs for all ages and abilities.
Past Trailblazer Award winners include: Sharon Barbano (Saucony), Carol
Lasseter-Rice (Running Times Magazine) and Julia Emmons (Atlanta Track
Club).
GO! St. Louis, a non-profit organization, encourages individuals and
families in the region to adopt a healthy lifestyle by getting fit, staying
active, and eating a nutritional diet year round. The organization
accomplishes this through school based programming, outreach to
senior/retirement centers, community collaborations and the creation of new
and unique fitness opportunities. The organization's signature event is the
GO! St. Louis Family Fitness Weekend, set for April 18 & 19, 2009 and
attracts more than 18,000 participants each year.
