Opening of registration for the RunCzech races 2016 brings a record number 
of registered participants; one-third of the first two races is already 
filled 

The last race of the RunCzech Running League 2015 has just finished, and 
preparations for the next year got underway. On Thursday, September 17, 
organizers have presented a brand new project of the Prague Digital 
Marathon and opened registration for the races 2016. Interest of runners is 
incredible. Capacity of the first two races, Sportisimo Prague Half 
Marathon and the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, during five days has already 
filled by one-third.

"We are very pleased with the fact that runners are so much interested in 
registrations for our races. Just during one day we got 2 600 registered 
participants", says the race director Václav Skrivánek. A new season brings 
a new registration system. “The entry fee is now based on the number of 
registered runners; two thirds of them will get discount rates", explains 
Václav Skrivánek.

The first one-third of registrations for individuals on the Sportisimo 
Prague Half Marathon and the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, and therefore the 
change of the price level, has been reached during the first five days; 
however, the number of registered participants in other RunCzech Running 
League races is increasing, as well.

The registration is open for each category, including relays, teams and 
popular dm family runs. Next season race schedule is as follows:

Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon – 2 April 2016
Volkswagen Prague Marathon – 8 April 2016
Mattoni Karlovy Vary Half Marathon – 21 May 2016
Mattoni Ceské Budejovice Half Marathon – 4 June 2016
Mattoni Olomouc Half Marathon – 25 June 2016
Birell Prague Grand Prix – 10 September 2016 
Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon – 17 September 2016
 
The organizers of RunCzech are preparing other novelties for the next 
season; a new registration system and the running revolution called the 
Prague Digital Marathon are not the only ones. "Next year the Sportisimo 
Prague Half Marathon will be organized only for the half marathon runners 
and teams. Relays will follow. In April we will organize a separate relay 
race only", says Václav Skrivánek. Besides that, the adidas Women’s Race 5 
km at the Birell Prague Grand Prix will be open to female runners from the 
age of 12.
