FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ORANGE COUNTY MARATHON SEEKS 1,300 VOLUNTEERS

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (October 4, 2007) – An event the size of the Avia
Orange County Marathon Presented by Nutrilite would not function without
the support of volunteers.

With more than 12,000 runners and walkers expected to participate in the
Marathon, Half-Marathon, 5K and Kids Run, event organizers are seeking
1,300 volunteers to staff a number of race-day duties on Sunday, January 6,
2008, or on January 4th or 5th during the Health Expo at the Hyatt Regency
Irvine.

Some duties that are currently in need of volunteers include: staffing
water stations; assisting runners at the start line and finish line; course
monitors; registration and packet pick-up and t-shirt and goodie-bag
distribution.

Anyone interested may volunteer as an individual, as part of an existing
group for a designated charity or bring in a volunteer group of their own.
All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt in appreciation for their
time. Community Service hours can also be credited to those volunteers
that need them.

Volunteers may register by visiting the OC Marathon website at www.ocmarathon.com. Click on the "Volunteer" link at the
top of the page and click how to join as an individual. The list of
available duties and hours will then be displayed for easy selection and
sign-up. If you would like a group to sign up, please email
to sign up as a group.
