Runners tackle world's smallest Tresco Marathon
(This is Cornwall) With a starting field of ninety-nine runners, the tenth annual Tresco Marathon raises money for research into cystic fibrosiis. In his debut marathon,Ivan Hollingsworth, 33, of Newcastle, took first place honors with a time of two hours 58, minutes and 57 seconds.

The Smallest Marathon in the World: Tresco
(Guardian Unlimited) "Smallest" could refer to the number of competitors (130) or the circuit (3.6 miles). But it certainly doesn't refer to the distance - participants are expected to do seven and a half laps ie the full 26.2 miles. What's worse, each lap has four hills, making London a doddle in comparison.
