   Record 9,002 Take Part In Kuala Lumpur Marathon Run (Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd)
This year's Kuala Lumpur Marathon was the biggest in it's history, with over 9,002 participant runners. 351 runners were from 27 different countries from all over Europe and Southeast Asia. Vladimir Kotov from Belarus won the men’s race in 2:33.37 and Yuan Yufang took the women’s race in 3:02:20.

   Yufang Not Happy with Time Despite Winning Kuala Lumpur Race (Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd)
Despite the fact that Malaysia's Yuan Yufang won the women's title of the Kuala Lumpur International Marathon, outpacing a field of top runners throughout the race, she is unhappy with her timing. Her time was 3 hours 2 minutes 20 seconds in the race, which is over seven minutes short of her Personal Best. Yufang collected RM8,000, and a certificate for air travel to any Asian country offered by Malaysian Airlines.

   Malaysian Runner Wins Women's Open Kuala Lumpur Marathon Title (Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd)
Yuan Yu Fang took the top women’s open marathon title of the Kuala Lumpur International Marathon on Sunday with a time of 3:02.20. The run was organised by Federal Territory Amateur Athletics Association and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

   Yufang, Kotov win KL International Marathon (UTUSAN MELAYU (M) BHD.)
The China-born women's athlete Yuan Yufang won the Kuala Lumpur Marathon in 3 hours 2 minutes and 2 seconds, staying ahead throughout the race. Thailand's Sunisa Sailomyen came in second in 3 hours 4 minutes and 37 seconds. Vladimir Kotov from Belarus won in the men's section in 2 hours 33 minites and 37 seconds.

Runners from all over Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia including Zambia, Poland, Belarus, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Singapore, India, Kenya and Kazakhstan are getting ready for the 2003 Kuala Lumpur International Marathon. Almost 200 foreign runners are expected to run in the race, with 700 locals, and the rest students from the nearby Klang Valley. Registration closes on February 3, 2003.

   Yufang Aims to Rewrite National Record in Kuala Lumpur Marathon (Star Publications Bhd)
The Kuala Lumpur International Marathon is set to run on February 16th, 2003. Yuan Yufang is expected to return this year to defend the title she won in the 2000 race, where she broke marathon record in 2:49.28. If perhaps she succeeds, she will then go on to try and qualify for the Asian Track and Field Championships in Manila in July, 2003.
