Daniel Rono was second in 2:06:58 and 2001 World 10,000m champion Charles Kamathi was third in a 2:07:33 with personal best times for both. The women's race was won by Lyubov Morgunova of Russia in a personal best of 2:25:12.

Fortis Rotterdam Marathon hoping for its first sub-2:06
(IAAF) Race Organizers for the 2008 Rotterdam Marathon are expecting fast times in this year's line-up. The course record of 2:06:14 was set by Kenyan Felix Limo four years ago. Defending champion Joshua Chelanga will be joined by five sub-2:07 and five sub 2:08 marathoners such as Paul Kiprop, Richard Limo, Benjamin Maiyo and Jimmy Muindi. The women's race will feature four women with a personal best under 2:28 - Malgorzata Sobanska, Lyubov Morgunova, Alice Chelagat and Zekiros Adanech.
