Kirwa takes commanding victory at Padua Marathon

Francis Kirwa of Finland won the 2008 Padua Marathon unopposed in a 2:11:00 qualifying for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Alberico Di Cecco was second in 2:13:09 and Haron Toroitich was third in 2:13:24. The womenÂ’s race went to Italian Marcella Mancini in 2:35:24.

One Second Splits First Two in Padua Marathon

Kenyan Paul Kipkimei Kogo, who started as a pacemaker, won the eighth edition of the SantÂ’Antonio Marathon from Vedelago to Padua equalling the 2:10:38 course record held by Ethiopian David Trfe since 2003.

Kenyan wins Italy's St. Anthony's Marathon

Kenyan Gideon Chirchir won the St. Anthony Marathon in Italy this weekend, posting a 2:11:51 finish. He was more than a minute ahead of the No. 2 finisher, last year's champ Migidio Bourifa.
