Paula Radcliffe ran the 10,000m at the World Championships in Helsinki a week before her planned bid for the World Championships Marathon title. After briefly leading the pack, Radcliffe fell back and, after failing to make headway with a later push, eased off to finish in 9th place in 30:42.75.
