Highly Recommended!

Great series of races put on by an awesome team with amazing volunteers! There is a marathon, half marathon and 10K. The race is at a reasonable price with plenty of parking and bathrooms available near the start. I ran the marathon on Saturday. The aid stations were the best with sports drink, water, Coke soda, and gels. Even during pouring rain on the second loop, the aid station volunteers were happy and cheered everyone on. However, the pouring rain turned the C&O Canal Towpath into a giant mud pit. Nevertheless, I enjoyed running through the mud and puddles. It really made the miles fly by that aided me running a negative split over the second half to BQ. The Finish Line was great and the post-race food helped me to recovery and regain a little energy.

My first Marathon

Although this was my first Marathon I think of it as the first of many. This out and back mostly flat marathon was a really good time and an enjoyable experience for me. Im running it again this year and hope anyone who reads this does too! The race directors are top notch! In it's second year it will be way more awesome!
