The Lake Placid Marathon &amp; Half Marathon is a USATF-certified course whose distance has been certified for accuracy and is nationally ranked. The race is also a Boston Marathon Qualifier!
The Lake Placid Marathon and Half Marathon course is a beautiful course set in the heart of the Adirondacks. You&rsquo;ll find yourself racing past historic&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lakeplacid.com/do/activities/olympic-sites" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Olympic sites</a>&nbsp;including the ski jumps, 400 meter outdoor speed skating oval, and the 1980 Arena, home of the &ldquo;Miracle On Ice&rdquo;.
The Half Marathon is a single loop out and back while the Marathon is a double out and back. The course is a combination of flat, rolling and some hills with an elevation gain of 1,393 feet for the full marathon. Runners enjoy mountain views, open areas, shaded areas, a class III trout stream and beautiful Mirror Lake along the way.&nbsp; Twelve well stocked aid stations are available for the Half Marathon; 26 for the Marathon. The event offers a generous six (6) hour course limit for each race.
