Greater Manchester Marathon

One of the best marathons I've run so far. Route: great! Fans: just great. I'll definitely come back next year

A very enjoyable race. Pre race packet pick up for foreign runners wasn't until 3pm the day before the race. It was in downtown Manchester but was easily able to get there via public tram. No expo or goodie bag. A simple race for a very low cost (early registration was $70 US). Start was easy to get to, well managed and right on time. Course was flat and fast. Not the most scenic but very good spectator support. Next year's course will be modified to include a loop through the city center. Starts and finishes near Old Trafford. Loved the water bottles handed out at the aid stations instead of cups. Nice finish village, food, mylar blanket, photos, nice finisher medal. Race t-shirt handed out at end. A great experience. If you are looking for a no frills race to run a good time, this is it. Weather was fantastic, upper 40s at start, mid 50s at the finish. Already signed up for next year.
