 "Hot, but worth making an effort for" (General Comments)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 3 I did the event in 2000. It was very hot (36 C) and I suffered badly from the heat for weeks afterwards. The organisation was good but very laid-back, onlookers were friendly (but not huge numbers)and plenty of impromtu refreshment stations at residents' gates. Scenic route (all one way) from a foreigner's viewpoint, long low bridge, fishing boats, palm trees etc. I will do it again August 2006. The route is now out-and-back, instead of one way. I recommend it as part of a good holiday, as it is not a major tourist destination but has plenty of facilities. |
