Freiburg Marathon - Race Reviews

This race would receive all 5s, if only the course weren't double looped! That said, the course (the loop) was very nice. It was fairly flat and unencumbered by such things as traffic or tight roadways. And the crowds? Wow, the crowds were great! It was hotter than expected (low 80s in the sun), and quite a few runners fell out. But it wasn't humid and there was a nice breeze throughout the race. There was also plenty of shade during the run. Other things to note: Excellent pre-race expo and post-race activities (I received quite the massage afterwards!). Great S-bahn for easy transport to and from the race. Terrific crowd support, plenty of water/energy drink/food stations, and something like 42 bands playing throughout the race. I most definitely recommend this race to others.
