Lake Myvatn Marathon - Race Reviews

I had the honor of walking the marathon, and finishing dead last! It was a scenic, relaxing race with none of the crowds and big city hoopla so common in USA marathons. My only suggestion would be to have hot tea instead of cold sports drinks at some of the water stations, as it got c-c-c-c-old running after 11 pm. Thanks for a wonderful experience to all the hospitable Icelandic people. Our Atlanta group of Galloway runners (and 2 walkers) thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Another idea: could you have the hot thermal pool post-race celebration in the other town pool? The small one nearby was hopping with those midges that Myvatn is so famous for!
