Friendly and well-organized small-town race

We had a well-organized start and a lovely sunrise over the water. The marathon course runs through residential neighborhoods and along commercial boulevards, with occasional water views from the bridges. Mile markers at every mile. Aid stations were frequent; staffed by enthusiastic volunteers; and well-supplied with water, Gatorade, and gels. This was particularly welcome since the heat and sun had us running a bit ragged - especially during the brutal out-and-back along Ocean Boulevard in the second half! Great food and a nice post-race party in Memorial Park.

Poor planning and execution

Disaster at the start. Poorly lit route in the dark and lack of guides resulted in a 27.4 mile race for me (distances my vary based on when the runner turned around to get back on course). They ran out of medals if you took too long to finish. People after me were rightfully angry when they did not receive a medal, which was insult to injury after the mess at the start. We were allowed one water bottle, no electrolyte drinks available at the finish. Minimal packaged foods, no fruit. The runners had a similar problem with the course markings 2 years ago so the directors clearly did not learn from their mistakes. This was marathon #44 for me and the worst organized out of all of them. DO NOT DO THIS RACE!!!

Debacle. Do not do this race.

Ran this race in 2020. Although the race began before dawn the race director had no lead cyclists or volunteers at the first turn. As a result hundreds of runners went the wrong way. This would be inexcusable even if it had not happened two years prior. Chaos ensued. Some carried on, cutting the course, some went back to find the right turn, adding distance, and some went back to the beginning for a do-over. People in tears, Boston Qualifiers in jeopardy. Absolute joke. Other than that the course had zero spectators and was extremely windy.

Most Gorgeous Course EVER!!

I've run this marathon 3 times and done the half once. It never disappoints. The course is gorgeous, the aid stations are super fun and the volunteers are exceptional. The shirt is one of the best I ever received from a race and I wear it a lot. The medals are really clever in their design and are also a bottle opener! Pre-race, there was Starbucks coffee before the race (hot and iced), which was delicious and available after too!! There are port-o-lettes in addition to the free standing bathroom. Post race, there is plenty of good food, beer and great music and it's in a beautiful grassy park where you can just hang out with your friends. You may even get to ring the PR bell!! Parking is right there, so logistically, this is a no stress race. There are plenty of places to eat nearby after you get your bib at the Expo. Stuart is a cute little town and they take pride in showing it off. Plus, who would not want to be in Florida in March?!!?!!? The weather is AMAZING!!! This will be a regular on my marathon schedule. Fun, Sun, Run. The Trifecta of Perfection!!

OK race, rude officials

The race was ok but the officials were rude and course was average wouldn't do this one again. NY or Chicago better choices.

Love my local marathon!

This is the marathon closest to me and I've run it twice. Compared to other races I've run this is the easiest one to get to. Parking is very easy, no shuttle bus. The course is mostly flat except for 2 bridges with a great view of the Saint Lucie River. Most important of all...the medals and shirts are always awesome!!!

Beautiful course, organized, need more spectators.

Love this course. My 3rd year returning doing Marathon Relay for charity. Well organized / best timing, MCM Timing, quick/accurate, experienced. Nice Expo/music weekend. Great shirt/medal. Waterstops had a variety of snacks/nutrition. It was hot/humid this year early , so if heats not your thing, I recommend doing 1st/2nd leg if on relay team.

Excellent, beautiful course and experience

I enjoyed the Expo. I was able to obtain exclusive marathon items as well as Garmin and Sparkle skirt items. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience doing a relay. Running along the scenic Stuart beach route was awesome!

A Beautiful Well Organized Event

This event was in a beautiful location. It offered many different distance options, was well organized and had great amenities on course and after the race - I loved the wet sponges to cool off in the humidity. The long sleeve tshirt and starfish medal were adorable. I wear my shirt all the time! It was my first time at this event and I ran the half marathon. I hope to do it again! and again!!!

all about that swag with a sweet course

I absolutely loved the car magnet included in the swag bag! Oh and the coffee mug with the race decal was sweet. I bought it at the Expo and it's now my work coffee cup. The race t-shirts were a beautiful design, I just wish it was a short sleeve tech shirt so I can wear it year round, but it is my go-to shirt on chilly days. But that medal....was gorgeous! This was my first visit to Stuart (I live in Sebastian) and the course was beautiful and I loved all of the turns so it kept me going. I will definitely run this race again next year.

An awesome race experience

I had an excellent race experience. The route was awesome running through the residential area in the early morning. All the volunteers were amazing and encouraging at water stations. I was very impressed with the police force managing busy intersections. The photographer was engaging, setting up photos around the 5K mark advising us on speaker that a photo op was coming up. The finish area was well shaded and food was outstanding. I will be referring this race to friends. The race shirt is beautiful, the material is soft and I like the fact that it was designed by a local artist. Also good job on the huge medal. Big thanks from this Canadian girl on an excellent race experience. Ran the half marathon distance.

Beautiful course, beautifully supported!

Thank you for the best first (one and done) marathon! You can't control Florida weather in March. I suffered in the heat, yet after the course was closed, your bike marshals, James and Danielle made my finishing possible! (Note: I did stay hydrated and did not suffer any serious effects. Thank the race mgr for his sincere concern.)

Favorite route ever!

Everything about the run was fantastic. Seriously. The route was perfect because it was mostly flat - and I enjoyed the nuance of the bridge out and back. It was the right level of challenge for me. Also the boardwalk run out by the water was nice. I appreciated the spectators on the way cheering me on! Post race food and medals were also a big plus!

Beautiful day for a run

Having read about the screw up in 2017, I signed up for this race with a bit of trepidation. I was also running it to support one of the organizations it supports. The course has some beautiful sections, with a decent amount of shade. The downside is that much of it is run on concrete sidewalks. There are lots of water stops and support. We got near perfect weather this year with a starting temp of 51. And this year, they appear to have gotten the distance correct.

Unacceptable

Worse race I have ever run. The race directed people the wrong way and course was short .7 miles. They asked some runners to add on mid race with a Garmin or added on time afterward. Rather than apologizing they blamed the runners saying they should know the course. Not to mention it was not marked with anything other than lawn signs which were not at every intersection and missing throughout the race. There was very little support on the course. Also no beer after the race as promised. Would not recommend to anyone there are plenty of other races that deserve your support and appreciate all their runners.
