Marin County Marathon - Race Reviews

This marathon was in beautiful Marin County. I wish they would have closed the streets to traffic; some spots were pretty hairy (even my volunteer pacer was saying how scary the traffic was). The course was challenging and scenic, with rolling hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay. The bagpiper walk to the finish was quirky, unique, and ultimately much appreciated. This marathon was also very expensive; the high price warranted a little more coordination from the organizers and a better finisher's medal. Not sure where the money went (same price as a Rock 'n' Roll Marathon - without the perks). At the end of the day, it was Marin County's first full marathon. It was a beautiful setting, and I will do it again. I hope next year is better coordinated.
