Enjoy the St. Lawrence River
There were some definite kudos for this race. The pre-race registration and pasta dinner were slick and very good. Organizational support of the course was also very good - despite weather which was a bit windy with some showers and quite cool temperatures. In places, the course was a bit narrow, as it followed the boardwalk/river promenade frequently. However, all in all, it was well-supported and the post-race meal was excellent. The weather didn't lend itself to really seeing and enjoying the river (which is much more like a big lake) - and it helps to speak French (although we found people who accommodated us and made us feel very welcome - despite speaking virtually no French.) Our comments refer to the half-marathon, which my wife and I both ran. All in all, a good race in a beautiful place with lots of history and worth the drive (and flights)

Beautiful, flat, but mostly alone.
This is a really flat round trip by the St. Laurent River, which is many miles wide, so you feel like you're running by the sea. But it is a small event, with only a few hundreds participants in the marathon itself, so expect to run alone most of the time. There are not many spectators, but they are very kind and supportive.
