For the eighth year, Garden Spot Village is holding their Marathon and Half Marathon in New Holland, Pa. The race begins on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 8 a.m.

Garden Spot Village to Hold Eighth Annual Marathon/Half Marathon

In spite of the snowy weather, Bryan Morseman, 30, of Bath, N.Y., once again finished first in the eighth annual Garden Spot Village Marathon on Saturday, April 9, with a time of 2:39:39. For the 2014 and 2015 races, Morseman won with times of 2:25:33 and 2:30:08, respectively.

Garden Spot Village Announces Preliminary Marathon Results

In 2001, Jim Shoopack was battling clinical depression, though he didn't know that at the time. For 100 days, he fought the disease with the love and help of his family, friends, and beloved Golden Retriever Sonny. Now, Jim is using his strength to reach his goal of running in 100 marathons  one marathon for each one of those 100 days  to symbolically get back the time he lost. One leg of his journey will occur on Apr. 9 when Jim runs the 8th Annual Garden Spot Village Marathon.
