The course is set in the Grizzly Bear Recovery Zone along the Rocky Mountain Front of Northern Montana about 1 hour south of Glacier National Park.

In the marathon, 111 runners participated. Winning first in the women's overall was Marie Boyd, 45, of Missoula, with a time of 3:17:53.

Nearly 270 runners and a few walkers from Montana, many other states and two foreign countries - Canada and Great Britain - have registered.

My hardest race so far but one of my favorites
