<p>New Hampshire&rsquo;s best kept secret for over30 years! Come experience the natural beauty of NH in a small, friendly and community oriented event that doubles as a Boston Qualifier. The New Hampshire Marathon has been described as one of the most beautiful races in New England. The course moves around Newfound Lake during our most spectacular season, peak foliage. Offering a full, half, 10K and Kids race events, we have something for all levels.</p>
<p>All races start at 9 a.m. The Marathon and 10K racers start on Lake Street in front of the Newfound Memorial Middle School located at <a class="nh-link-text" href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/APgpQ1nmFZaNwTYB6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">155 N. Main St, Bristol, NH 03222</a>. The course proceeds north on Rte 3A, and the 10K racers turn at the&nbsp;<a class="nh-link-text" href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/CDNRejVAP5btQrxh6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appropriately marked turn</a>&nbsp;and return to the finish at&nbsp;<a class="nh-link-text" href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/5uS5rgH8utj9cvuP6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kelley Park</a>.<br /><br />The marathon runners continue on 3A north to North Shore Road (8.3 mi) and turn left toward and through the village of Hebron and continue straight on to the <a class="nh-link-text" href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/AGKNw5ouBE2P1diM7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">turnaround</a> (13+ miles). After retracing the route back to Hebron, the course turns south along the west shore of Newfound Lake, rejoining Rt 3A (24+ miles) at which point it retraces the route back to the finish line turning left on to Union St., right on to North Main and right to the finish at Kelley Park.<br /><br /><strong>Important Notes<br /><br /></strong>- If you&rsquo;re running the half marathon, registration opens at 7:00 AM, and the bus departs promptly at 8:00 AM to transport runners to the starting line.</p>
<p>- Our race has a seven-hour time limit. Runners still on the course after this mark will not have access to support or finish line services. An early start can be arranged in advance upon request.</p>

<p><strong>Race Weather &amp; Climate<br /><br /></strong>Located near the southern end of Newfound Lake in central New Hampshire, just over 50 miles northwest of Manchester, Bristol typically sees mild to sometimes cold weather in October, which has brought record temperatures here as low as 12&deg;F (in 1972) and as high as 85&deg;F (in 1986).</p>
<p>On the day of the race, the average low is 37&deg;F and the average high is 64&deg;F.</p>
<p><strong>Packet Pickup &amp; Check In<br /><br /></strong>Located at the&nbsp;<a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/5bXLBHGUrNZAmfav8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newfound Memorial Middle School (NMMS)</a><br />located at 155 N. Main St., Bristol, NH 03222.<br /><br />Runner&rsquo;s can get their packets at either one of these times:</p>
<p>- Pre-Registration Pick-up: 4:30-6:30pm at NMMS Cafeteria, Friday (day before race)</p>
<p>- Check-In: 7:00-8:45am on Race Day at NMMS Cafeteria, Saturday (race day)</p>

Everett Begor, race director for the New Hampshire Marathon, stated that it took 200 volunteers and 328 race participants, the 2nd largest crowd for the 15 year old race, to raise 11,000 for local charities.

Post-Race Review/ Results

David Herr of Canaan, Vt., was the first of 185 finishers at Saturday's New Hampshire Marathon. Herr completed the 26.2 mile race in 2 hours, 34 minutes, 58 seconds. Aaron Lavigne of Seabrook was the top local runner, finishing 11th in 3:30:38.
