"Qualifed for Boston" (about: 2013)

This was my first time running a timed race and my first ultra marathon on a short loop course. The 2.25k loop was perfect. Set in a beautiful park setting with no motorized vehicles was fantastic. The loop was long enough that it did not seem repetitive. The volunteers were helpful and enthusiastic. The food and snack choices were incredible; from pretzels and potato chips, to candy and granola bars and even baked potatoes. Despite having to run the hill numerous times, I was easily able to qualify for Boston! I am planning on running it again next year.

This inaugural race event was amazing. The early registration was inexpensive. The swag included a beautifully designed long sleeve Hoodie,a knapsack, two personalized bibs(one as a keepsake)a few other small goodies. The pre-race pasta dinner was very tasty. The pasta was made as ordered, several meat options, shrimp, sauces, vegetables, salad, rolls and apple crisp dessert, coffee & Tea. The race was a later start 9:00am,I enjoyed not having to be up at the crack of dawn. The main aid station offered an array of snack foods, water and power aide, the pretzels & chips, sandwiches, and candy were individually bagged. Pizza was delivered three times in the 6 hr time frame. Although it was not too hot; ice bandannas were offered for those that wanted to use them. The BATHROOMS were real bathrooms with two locations available for use around the loop, and there were zero line ups. The race offered certified splits for several distances, half marathon, full marathon, 25k,50k & 50 mile splits. Three ladies set Canadian Age Group records. The course was kept open for eight hours for those that wished to continue running farther distances. The photographer was out on the course the entire day and provided these pictures free of charge displayed on the race website. The race itself being a 1.4 mile loop is very spectator friendly. Overall the best race event that I have been a part of and will definitely sign up next year.

I was in the 6 hour run and the time just seemed to fly by. Excellent course with lots of volunteers to assist you along your way. Tons of great food, even pizza!! Will definitely do it again.
