"Very nice, low key marathon" (about: 2002)
COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 The marathon is a double half-marathon over a suburban/rural course. The first loop is run with the half-marathon runners. There are some hills though, especially after the 22-mile mark. Both times that I ran, the marathon had less than 100 runners. Plenty of aid stations. This year there was a shortage of bathrooms at the start to accommodate the runners entered in both races, plus a 5K fun run, which translated into about 1/2 hour + wait in line for male runners. Hopefully, that problem will be rectified next year.

"A good race" (about: 2001)
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Helpful info: the course is flat with a few short hills, so it's quite fast. Friendly atmosphere, plenty of water and Gatorade along the course, food at the finish, even though the 'Best feed on the East Coast' title is, well, rather inaccurate. Easy registration and access. The young volunteers' help and support at the water stations was just phenomenal. Thank you guys.
