(Vancouver Sun) Following a disappointing nineteenth place at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Women's Marathon Team Trials, Mary Akor won the Vancouver Marathon in 2:37:54. Her finish was nearly seven minutes faster than her 2004 win and her 2006 and 2007 efforts when she was second in 2:45.33 and 2:44.22, respectively. Claudia Camargo having suffered from shin splints came in second in 2:54:53. Ellie Greenwood of Vancouver was top Canadian in third in 2:55:28. | ||
