FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Matt Nathanson To Headline 2019 Rock 'N' Roll San Diego Marathon
                                 & 1/2 Marathon

TAMPA, Fla./SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 6, 2019) - The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
Series® is pleased to announce Matt Nathanson as this year's headliner for
the Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. On Sunday, June 2,
2019 Matt Nathanson will take to the Rock 'n' Roll Concert Series headliner
stage in Waterfront Park at 10:30 a.m. to close out a great two-day event
from the birthplace of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series. The concert will
be free and open to the public.

Hailing from San Francisco, California, Matt Nathanson has evolved into one
of the most admired songwriters and engaging performers on the music scene
today. His 2007 album, Some Mad Hope, yielded his breakthrough
multi-platinum hit "Come on Get Higher." His 2013 release, Last of The
Great Pretenders, debuted at #16 on the Billboard Top 200 while hitting #1
on iTunes' Alternative Albums chart. Nathanson has performed on The Howard
Stern Show, Ellen, CONAN, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dancing with the Stars,
Rachael Ray, and The CMA Awards, amongst others.

Matt Nathanson's latest album, Sings His Sad Heart, comes off the heels of
Nathanson's Def Leppard approved cover album of their iconic Pyromania
called Pyromattia, which shot to #1 on iTunes Alternative chart upon its
release. Def Leppard's Joe Elliott called the album "an amazing
reinterpretation" with "heart & soul." Sings His Sad Heart is the follow up
to Nathanson's last album, Show Me Your Fangs, which was hailed as his most
adventurous and prolific album to date featuring the songs, "Giants," "Bill
Murray," and "Adrenaline." Nathanson will take Sings His Sad Heart on the
road with a North American headline acoustic tour that kicked off on
February 9, 2019 in Orlando, Florida, and will conclude in his hometown of
San Francisco on March 28.

"Matt Nathanson will be joining an elite group of artists who have
performed for us in San Diego over the years," said Paul Huddle, Southwest
Regional Director for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series. "We are really
proud to continue that trend with Matt Nathanson who will rock the crowd of
athletes, spectators and the rest of the community."

The musically themed Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon & 1/2 Marathon will
begin at 6:15 a.m. on June 2. While taking in some of the best scenery of
San Diego, participants will experience great runner support and community
engagement and the scenic views that beautiful San Diego has to offer.

Leading runners through San Diego's most iconic neighborhoods, the races
take off from the historic start line at Balboa Park and travel through
Hillcrest, North Park and Normal Heights before the Marathon breaks from
the Half Marathon just past mile 8. The route also runs through Mission
Hills, Old Town and Mission Bay Park before both the Marathon and Half
Marathon finish downtown at Waterfront Park, where they will be greeted by
Matt Nathanson at the finish line festival.

Race weekend kicks off with a Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, May 31 from
11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 1 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at
the San Diego Convention Center Halls D & F. The expo will showcase vendors
featuring the latest in running gear, nutrition and training.
