Press Release - Rock 'n' Roll Montreal Marathon - 8/28/20

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

            Update on the 2020 Marathon International de Montréal

Based on the mandate from the Government of Québec in relation to the 
COVID-19 pandemic, and after assessing all racing options, the Marathon 
International de Montréal originally scheduled for September 19-20 cannot 
take place in 2020. We also regret to advise that after evaluating the 
future viability of the Marathon International de Montréal, we have 
concluded that we cannot operate the event in 2021.
 
All registered participants of the Marathon International de Montréal will 
be receiving an email with further information.
 
In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we 
recognize that this will come as a disappointment. We thank the city, all 
athletes, volunteers, and partners for their contributions to the event 
over the years and look forward to providing our participants with an 
exceptional experience at a future Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series event.


             Marathon International de Montréal 2020 Mise à Jour

À la suite des orientations émises par le Gouvernement du Québec en matière 
de santé publique dans le contexte de la pandémie liée à la COVID-19 et 
après avoir envisagé toutes les options possibles, nous vous informons que 
le Marathon international de Montréal originalement prévu les 19 et 20 
septembre 2020 prochain ne pourra se tenir. Nous avons également le regret 
de vous informer qu'après avoir évalué la viabilité future du Marathon 
international de Montréal, nous avons conclu que nous ne pouvons pas 
organiser l'événement en 2021.

Tous les participants inscrits à l'édition 2020 du Marathon international 
de Montréal recevront un courriel avec plus de détails.

Dans ce qui a été une période de constante évolution et difficile à 
l'échelle mondiale, nous reconnaissons que cela sera une déception. Nous 
remercions la Ville de Montréal, tous les athlètes, les bénévoles et les 
partenaires pour leur contribution à l'événement au fil des ans et nous 
sommes impatients de fournir à nos participants une expérience 
exceptionnelle lors d'un futur événement de la série Rock 'n' Roll 
Marathon.
