                         Kids Rock Arizona!

Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock Youth Marathon Debuts in
Conjunction with P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon

PHOENIX, Ariz., Sept. 16, 2004 -- With the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll
Arizona Marathon & = Marathon nearing its second running in January, race
officials have announced the addition of the Phoenix Children's Hospital
Kids Rock youth race. Geared to children ages 6 through 12, the race is a
one-mile non-competitive event that allows children to run on race day --
Jan. 9, 2005 -- and cross the official marathon finish line outside Arizona
State University's Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe.

Sponsored by Phoenix Children's Hospital and instituted to promote youth
health and fitness, children will be encouraged to run, jog or walk
25.2-miles prior to the event. On race day, kids will run the final mile
with their appropriate age group, culminating in the completion of a full
26.2-mile marathon. Phoenix Children's Hospital will provide a
complimentary training program, specifically designed for youth, that
includes tips on nutrition and fitness, a running or walking program and a
tracking system to chart progress. The 25.2-mile pre-race training program
is not mandatory for participation on race day.

"With such a great emphasis on youth fitness and nutrition right now, we
felt it was the perfect time to introduce a children's race," said Tim
Murphy, president of Elite Racing, the event's organizer. The running
community in the Valley of the Sun is such an active, supportive group that
it was a natural progression to start including children. We had tremendous
success in the first year of P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona and we want
to make this a family friendly event." The youth race is patterned after
the highly successful YMCA Country Music Kids Marathon held in conjunction
with Elite Racing's Country Music Marathon & = Marathon in Nashville, Tenn.

"Getting children and their families active and healthy is one of our
goals," says Bob Meyer, CEO and President of Phoenix Children's Hospital.
"Connecting with PF Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona to meet this challenge is
exciting. We are proud to sponsor a community effort in conjunction with
such a prestigious event that we hope will reach thousands of families and
get them in motion!"

The start line for the Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock will be at
Tempe Beach Park and age groups are divided as follows: 6, 7-8, 9-10 and
11-12. The event is limited to 2,400 children, with a maximum of 600

and goodie bag, available for pick-up at the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll
