Press Release - Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon - 6/6/16

                   $26.20 for 26.2 Miles Promotion Launched
				   
CANTON, Ohio (June 6, 2016) - The 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame, which is 
scheduled for Sunday, April 30th 2017, has introduced a $26.20 race entry 
fee for the Full Marathon event.  

"In an effort to bring focus back to the Marathon event we felt we needed 
to shake things up a little bit." said Jim Chaney, Executive Race Director. 
"The increasing entry fees that we see in our industry combined with the 
declining number of actual marathoners led us to look at things from a new 
perspective."   

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon is entering its fourth year and 
hosts a 5K, Team Relay, and Half Marathon in addition to the Full Marathon. 
Participation has increased each year with the exception of the Full 
Marathon. The price for the Full Marathon is intended to encourage those 
who are considering taking on the challenge of a marathon while minimizing 
the financial risk.

Race weekend begins on Friday April 28th with the Health & Fitness Expo. On 
Saturday April 29th the Gold Jacket 5K will take place at 8 a.m. while the 
Health & Fitness Expo continues from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. A variety of 
programming will be held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame throughout the 
day as well.
