Postal Collection Boxes To Be Removed During Pittsburgh Marathon

Postal Inspection Service Enacts Precautionary Security Measure

PITTSBURGH - The Postal Inspection Service, working in conjunction with local
law enforcement agencies, will implement a temporary security measure to
increase public safety for the 2013 Pittsburgh Marathon scheduled for Sunday,
May 5.

The United States Postal Service will take out of service collection boxes along
the marathon route this weekend. Blue collection boxes along the marathon route
will be pulled for Saturday, May 4 and Sunday May 5.

Postal officials emhasize this is a precautionary security measure only. Regular
collections will resume on Monday, May 6.
