BACKGROUND:
100 million people in America-including 28 million kids-don’t have a park
close to home. The Trust for Public Land has common-sense, cost-effective
solution: Turn existing schoolyards into shared outdoor spaces. Through its
partnership with NYRR, the two organizations are pursuing a common goal of
making New York City better today in order to promise a better tomorrow.
The organizations have partnered since 2016 to transform New York City
community schoolyards into state-of-the-art, green, community playgrounds.
