About the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon
About 7,500 adults and children participated in 2013 Covenant Health
Knoxville Marathon events. The marathon was first held in 2005 and has
grown to become the largest competitive road race in East Tennessee. The
marathon weekend includes six different running events held over two days:
a one-mile kids run, full and half marathons, two-person and four-person
marathon relays, and the 5K run.
Proceeds from the marathon benefit the Knoxville Track Club's youth
athletic program as well Covenant's Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center
Innovative Recreation Cooperative (IRC), which encourages people with
disabilities to pursue leisure and sports activities. The Covenant Health
Knoxville Marathon is a premier event organized by the Knoxville Track
Club, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
