              Early Registration Closes September 7 
        One Week Remains to Receive Discounted Entry Fee 
                  for Grandma's Marathon 2010

(Duluth, Minn.) Runners have until Labor Day to take advantage of the early 
registration period for the 34th running of Grandma's Marathon.

The early registration option runs until Monday, Sept. 7 and includes a $10 
discount off of the $85 entry fee. Early registration began July 13.

In addition to receiving a $10 discount and securing a spot in the 34th 
annual Grandma's Marathon, scheduled for June 19, 2010, each runner who 
signs up during early registration will receive a package of coupons and 
discounts from area hotels and attractions.

After September 7, registration for the marathon will close and reopen on 
Thursday, January 14, 2010. At this time, the entry fee will increase to 
$85 until the race reaches its 9,500-runner capacity.

Registration procedures for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and the 
William A. Irvin 5K remain the same as in past years. The half marathon 
lottery sign-up period is set for February 17 thru March 1 and William A. 
Irvin 5K registration opens March 17. Registration for these races will 
also be conducted at GrandmasMarathon.com.
