FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Publix Georgia Marathon Focuses on Southeast Runners with New Elite Program

Program increases prize purse by 50% for 2011 race

Atlanta, GA – November 8, 2010 – The Publix Georgia Marathon and Half
Marathon announced today the implementation of a new elite runner program
catering to Georgia and runners from the southeastern United States for the
March 20, 2011 race. The new program will increase the overall prize
purse from $11,500 in 2010, to $17,250 in 2011, a 50% increase, and offer
separate prize schedules for legal residents of Georgia, legal residents
of the southeastern U.S. and overall participants. According to the
program's specifications, eligible runners will have the opportunity to win
prize money from all three categories.

"The new elite program is a product of our vision to improve the overall
running experience for this year's Publix Georgia Marathon and Half
Marathon," said race director, Jeff Graves. "The majority of our runners
come from Georgia and surrounding states. We decided it was time to reward
these local competitors with separate prize money and provide incentives
that will make the field more competitive on a local level."

Elements of the program include complimentary race entries given to the
first 20 male and female marathon qualifiers, as well as for the first 10
male and female half marathon qualifiers. Competitors who wish to reserve
a spot in the first start corral will be required to submit a documentation
of their qualifying finish time at a USATF certified race on or after
January 1, 2009.
