Press Release - ING Georgia Marathon - 10/20/08

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon Helps Team In Training of Georgia
                      Reach Million Dollar Milestone
Third Year Event in March 2009 Could Reach Historical Fundraising Mark

(ATLANTA, Oct. 20, 2008) –The 2009 ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon
(www.inggeorgiamarathon.com) is projected to be a major fundraising
milestone for a local charity: Team In Training of Georgia
(www.teamintraining.org/ga) is approaching $1 million dollars raised for
the history of the race, solely through participation in the springtime
running event. Runners with Georgia's chapter of Team In Training, which
raises funds for leukemia and lymphoma research, raised more than $680,000
in the first two years of the race. With a set goal of $290,000 for the
2009 race, Team In Training is confident participants will reach further
and top the million-dollar milestone at the March 29 event.

"Running distance races brings its own personal rewards, but for our
charity partners it brings much more," said Victoria Seahorn, race director
of the ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon. "It can also bring awareness
to the community and raise money for worthy causes. It's an amazing feat to
think that in three years at the ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon, the
collective efforts of runners for Team In Training of Georgia will reach $1
million for blood cancer research. We're proud that our race can serve as a
vehicle to help fund such necessary research and support."

The ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon cultivates a special relationship
with charity organizations in order to extend its mission of reaching out
to the community through distance running. The race provides free promotion
of the organization through the race Web site and offers special
registration discounts for qualified organizations. In addition, a charity
summary is provided to members of the media covering the race.
Organizations with 501(c)3 status can apply online at
www.inggeorgiamarathon.com.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is the world's largest
endurance sports training program. Every year more than 45,000 people raise
funds and participate as runners and walkers in races worldwide. Team In
Training of Georgia has fielded a team (two-year total) of 238 racers in
the first two ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon races. The organization
is about to launch it's spring marathon training program and has set a goal
for the 2009 ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon of a team of 185
participants. To reach the $290,000 goal, each racer will need to raise
$1,800 for blood cancer research and the support of patients and their
families. Interested runners or walkers, volunteers or donors can learn
more at www.teamintraining.org/ga.
