Registration Open for 2012 Cox Providence Rhode Races
Register by May 31 and Save on Entry Fees

Providence, RI – Registration is now open for the 2012 Cox Providence Rhode
Races. The fifth annual Cox Providence Rhode Races features four races and
kicks off on Saturday, May 5 with the kids' race and 5k. The weekend long
event continues on Sunday, May 6, with the Cox Sports Marathon and half
marathon in Downtown Providence. The Cox Sports Marathon is a 2013 Boston
Marathon qualifier.

Runners can save on entry fees for the Cox Providence Rhode Races by
registering before midnight on May 31, 2011. To register for any of the
races visit: www.coxrhoderaces.com.

Nearly 6,000 runners competed in the fourth annual Cox Providence Rhode
Races held earlier this month in Providence. Runners, ranging in age from
13-78 years-old, came from as far away as Australia, Puerto Rico, Canada
and Great Britain to compete in the event that showcases Providence and its
surrounding communities.

Tom O'Grady won the 2011 Cox Sports Marathon in 2:31:25. The winning time
was his personal best and was a new course record. Emily Kroshus, of
Boston, MA, was the first female to cross the finish line in 2:53:23.

North Kingstown's Eric Lonergan won the 2011 Eident Sports Half Marathon in
1:09:22 and set a course record in doing so. Sarah Piazza, of New Haven,
CT, was the top female in the Eident Sports Half Marathon (1:22:35).
