BOSTON - The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced Yankee
magazine as the official publisher of the Boston Marathon.

One of the most recognizable and respected publications in New England,
Yankee magazine's editors will collaborate with the B.A.A. to print the
annual Boston Marathon Official Program and Boston Marathon Racer's Record
Book surrounding April's Boston Marathon. The 124th Boston Marathon will be
held on Monday, April 20, 2020, which is Patriots' Day in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts. Looking ahead to the 2020 race, Yankee magazine and the
B.A.A. will showcase unique elements of the competition. Among the early
storylines include the launch of the Boston Marathon's Para Athletics
Divisions, which provide athletes with vision or physical impairments the
opportunity to compete for prize money and awards. Other storylines include
the John Hancock Elite Athlete Field (to be announced in the coming months)
and the B.A.A.'s ongoing community engagement efforts to bring the benefits
of running and healthy lifestyles to the greater community.

"We are delighted to welcome Yankee magazine to the Boston Marathon family
and look forward to working together to share the many stories that make
the Boston Marathon such a unique and memorable sporting event," said Tom
Grilk, B.A.A. chief executive officer. "The Boston Marathon and Yankee
magazine are both New England institutions with a distinguished and
celebrated history, something we look to showcase together."

Based in Dublin, New Hampshire, Yankee magazine was founded in 1935 and has
covered quintessential elements of the region including travel
destinations, food traditions, and home and lifestyle stories. In addition
to producing the Boston Marathon Official Program and Racer's Record Book,
new this year, Yankee and the B.A.A. will offer a digital edition of each
publication for participants and their friends and family members to enjoy
pre- and post-race.

"Yankee is honored to partner with another iconic New England institution,
the Boston Athletic Association," said Brook Holmberg, publisher of Yankee.
"Our editors are the most knowledgeable experts and storytellers about all
things New England, and we are looking forward to helping the B.A.A. expand
coverage of the Boston Marathon to reach a much larger audience."
