Press Release - Boston Marathon - 9/19/18

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Team B.A.A. Adds Three Athletes To High Performance Team

Kaitlin Goodman, Erika Kemp, and Samantha Nadel join B.A.A.

BOSTON - The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced today the
addition of three athletes joining the B.A.A. High Performance Team.
Bringing both professional and collegiate experience with them, Kaitlin
(Gregg) Goodman, Erika Kemp, and Samantha Nadel join a B.A.A. roster led by
High Performance Coach Ricardo Santos.

"We are very excited to add Kaitlin, Erika, and Samantha to Team B.A.A.,"
said Santos. "Among the three, the Boston Athletic Association adds great
depth and experience to our team. We look forward to them competing for and
representing the B.A.A. both nationally and internationally."

The objective of the B.A.A.’s High Performance group of athletes is to
support American runners on their way towards making international teams,
with the goal of competing at the highest level: the Olympic Games and IAAF
World Championships. The B.A.A. is sponsored by adidas, which provides
comprehensive support for the running club, Team B.A.A., and its events.

Goodman is a four-time Olympic Trials qualifier and specializes in
distances ranging from 5000-meters to the marathon. Goodman has run
professionally since graduating in 2010 from the University of California,
Davis, and she is one of only two women to compete in all three Olympic
Trials distance events in 2016 (the 5000m, 10,000m, and marathon). Goodman
placed fifth at the 2017 USA Marathon Championships, and this summer she
finished seventh at the Beach to Beacon 10K in Maine and 13th place at the
Falmouth Road Race. She will race the TCS New York City Marathon on
November 4.

Kemp, a graduate of North Carolina State University, is coming off an
All-American tenth place finish at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field
Championships 5000m. Originally from Mount Holly, N.J., Kemp earned seven
All-ACC Academic selections while notching lifetime bests of 15:41.23 for
5000m and 33:13.44 for 10,000m at N.C. State. Indoors in 2016, she finished
fifth at the NCAA Indoor Championships 5000m. Most recently she was eighth
at the Falmouth Road Race. Kemp is also nominated for the 2018 NCAA Woman
of the Year Award.

Nadel is a native of Glen Hill, N.Y., and was a six-time All-American while
running for Georgetown University and the University of Oregon. In 2017,
Nadel placed fourth in the 3000m at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field
Championships, then she finished eighth in the 2017 NCAA Outdoor 5000m.
This year she notched a personal best of 33:01.82 for 10,000m, which was
good for fourth in the University of Oregon record books. Nadel wore the
Team USA uniform in 2013 at the IAAF World Junior Cross Country
Championships. In her first race with Team B.A.A., Nadel won the Nicholas
Pedrone 5K in Glen Cove, N.Y.

Earlier this summer, the B.A.A. also added Trevor Dunbar and Jacob Thomson
as team members. Dunbar has represented the USA internationally in cross
country, while Thomson clocked a lifetime best mile of 3:57.07 on August 3,
shortly after concluding his collegiate career at the University of
Kentucky.
