ING New York City Marathon 2005 - Overview
37,516 runners started the 36th Annual New York City Marathon... The fastest runner in the field finished the course in 2:09:30 and the slowest were still crossing the finish line after ten hours. Each of these runs is an accomplishment and a story - but the stories that generate the greatest media coverage are the hundred or so runners participating in one of the elite divisions of the race - and we'll focus on those stories here.
Both the men's and women's races were even more exciting than could be expected - and we have the coverage and commentary...
