| Course Description: | Why run the Paw? Runners will enjoy the thrill of running through the beautiful Bears Paw Mountains! The Bear Paws (as the locals call them) were named for the unique formation of the island mountains, which resemble a bear's outstretched paw. In the foothills of the mountains are the pristine lakes and rolling hills of Beaver Creek park, the largest county park in the nation. This unique race is a must for all marathoners! You won't run from the bears here, you'll run through them! Set your goal now and start training for the 2024 Bear Paw Marathon! Whether you're a seasoned runner, beginner, or anywhere in-between - the Bear Paw Marathon is the perfect race for you. The course is an overall gradual decent taking you from the mountains to the plains in Big Sky Country. A mix of gravel and pavement with a few hills along the way make this a great race for all abilities. This run has you surrounded by natures beauty from start to finish. | |

| Course Refreshments: | There are 14 aid stations throughout the full marathon course spaced approximately every 2 miles with water and first aid kits. Some aid stations may be unmanned. Some aid stations will also be carrying snacks, gels, and electrolyte enhanced hydration products. | |

| Packet Pickup Info: | Packet pickup for the full marathon, half marathon, and 5K is at the Holiday Village Mall (1753 US-2, Havre, MT 59501), on Friday, May 30th between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. There will be NO packet pick up on race day. You may have a friend pick up your packet for you. Please contact the Bear Paw Marathon team with a Facebook message or call the Havre Chamber between 9am-3pm MT Mon-Fri at 406-265-4383 to make arrangements ahead of time if you will arrive Havre after packet pickup. | |
