COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 First,my compliments: Excellent aid stations with friendly and enthusiastic volunteers Refreshing electrolyte drink tastes like ginger ale Fresh fruit at aid stations 'Writing your dream' board at expo was engaging. Expo before the race and large water station at race start were good. Post race activities on stage honoring those who aid agent orange victims were very good. Nice finisher's medal and a very nicely designed finishers shirt. Proceeds from the race were used to support agent orange victims. A very worthy cause! Our registration fee was called a donation and was equivalent to a typical marathon fee in the USA. Now, my criticisms: Most important: there was no food at the finish line! There was only water. There could have been a few more porta potties along the course. I had hoped the course would have taken us through more of the city. It seemed to have too many loops that repeated parts of the course. However, runners only have to go up the Pho My Bridge once. The sound system in the post race tent was deafening. Towards the end of our race, traffic control could have been better. Advice: be prepared for heat and humidity. The further you can run before the sun comes up the better. |
