"Enjoyable run in a park" (about: 2016)

This race is only open for around 70 runners, so it's necessary to register early. The web-page is in German, but the organizer replied immediately in English when I sent a couple of questions and was very helpful (among other things driving me to the railway station the day after the race!).

The course is situated in a recreation/park area by a lake which runners do 9 laps around (1st and 9th are slightly shorter). My Garmin measured the total elevation to around 250 meters, so relatively flat with a few moderate inclines. Most of the course is on a very nice gravel path. About 3 kms in total is on a more narrow trail that is slightly technical, although not slippery even on this rainy day with a lot of leaves on the ground. There was some traffic from pedestrians, dog-walkers, cyclists along the course, but that was not at all a problem.

There is an aid station every 5K, which also offers warm Gluhwein at the finish!

The race is small-scale in a very good sense. Friendly and informal. No possibilties to take a shower at the site after the race, although a very nice restaurant allowed participants to use their bathroom for changing. A nice place to enjoy a meal post-race, I gather. A lot of the participants appeared to be seasoned marathoners. A lot of conversation going on during the race.

Definitely a race that I'd recommend.
