COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 This race is in Taiwan not China so that might be helpful to those w visa questions. There is no expo - picked up my race packet at National Quemoy Univ day before race. Some student volunteers helped but not sure how well they speak English. Saw quite a few foreigners at the race though. Course is a loop around the island allowing runners to see a few areas of this military island. Course not difficult but a series of rolling hills with a big hill at mile 20. Temperature was 10c. There are no corals so all half, full runners Start at same time. It's useful to get a position early before 7am start if wanting to run fast. The entire island came to support run though the population can't match something like New York. Nice medal, full size towel, cheap singlet but organizers included a full sized bottle of local alcohol and a package of dried noodles. Cheerful atmosphere and finishers get soup/stew. Probably the best value for such low race fees. |
