"Excellent Race with great support" (about: 2016)

I ran my first marathon here last year and then again this year. The race is very organized with great support. The local residents are out cheering. This is the premier event for the area and the locals take great pride in this race. It was hot this year but there was plenty of water, Gatorade, etc. I love this race and the people of Torreón. It's a great race (and you can't beat the cost).
This is my second year living in Torreón and will be working here for 1 or 2 more years - I will run LALA next year.

I have run 18 Marathons, several in different countries. And when I heard fast and flat I simply have my doubts. LALA is definetly a FLAT one. Weather is dry and mild. I have never seen so many funs for a small race. KM 35 until 39 should be called the Feed Zone because funs come out of their houses just to feed You all those goodies, Chocolate, banans, oranges, soda in small quantities and different flavors, even coffeee and bread, that You dream of when You hitting the wall.
And for the price $200 pesos, less than $20 dollars You get all the goodies of good quality that You get in any big race. This race is fast, no only because is flat, but also because the small crowd. once You get in a 3hr 30 min. pace after 10 ks You have plenty of space, so You don't have to spend extra energy zig zagging.

Thanks to the organizers of this race, and even more so to the people who came out onto the streets to cheer on the runner. Seriously, it was so beautiful to run this course. All Mexican runners should do this race at least once in their lives. Thanks, LALA!

I just crossed the line today.

It was amazing (this was my first marathon).

There was a really good course in a beautiful country, very kind spectators, and really good organized.

I recommend it 100%.

I've run 5 marathons now, and the 2007 Lala Maraton in Torreon has the been the most amazing. The streets were lined with people almost all throughout the whole course and making a lot of noise. It was very well organized and I'd do it again!

This has been a great experience in Mexico. The course is flat and fast. Thank God that the climate was perfect (not hot, as I expected). The organization is top-level, including support, liquid, recovery, etc. There were people supporting the runners along the entire course. Magnificent!

I just ran this marathon 1 week ago, and I have to say that it's wonderful. It was my first, so I was looking for something flat, and this works. The cheering of the crowds was great, and even if it is small (4500 or so), it was amazing. Besides, the organization was also great, and they gave me water, PowerAde, oranges, and even chocolate and soda. I intended to finish in 4:30 and I actually did 4:08.51!!!!! So I'm still glowing.

It is definitely the best marathon in Mexico. There is a flat course, with plenty of water and people cheering and supporting all the way. If you live near Mexico or happen to be around Mexico in March, you should try it.
